Jan. 6, 2012

IRVING, Texas – For the first time in Big 12 history, every soccer program in the Conference ranked in the top 100 in the final NCAA RPI listing. Kansas came in at No. 47 for the fourth-best RPI in the league.

The high individual school rankings propelled the league as a whole to finish second nationally in conference RPI. The Big 12 was also ranked as the second-best conference in 2003 when nine of its 11 teams were in the top 100.

Kansas had a successful season going 11-9-1 overall in 2011 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in program history. KU also picked up a win at No. 20 San Diego during the regular-season and took nationally-ranked and eventual champion Texas A&M to penalty kicks during the Big 12 Championship.
