Jan. 11, 2011

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas swimming and diving returns home for a Thursday morning meet against no. 18 Arkansas, scheduled for 10 a.m. at Robinson Natatorium. The Jayhawks, who are receiving votes in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America’s top 25 poll, are 5-4 in dual competition while the Razorbacks bring a record of 6-2, including 2-1 in the Southeastern Conference.

Last time in the pool, Senior Iuliia Kuzhil and freshman Alison Lusk both won two events to lead the University of Kansas swimming and diving team past Vanderbilt, 182-75, on Jan. 8 at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, Tenn.

“Arkansas will be a stiff challenge for us,” Kansas head coach Clark Campbell said. “They have earned their top 20 ranking by defeating several outstanding teams. We will need to bring our ‘A’ game if we have hopes of competing with them.”

Following the home dual, the Jayhawks will travel to Lincoln, Neb., to take on Nebraska on Saturday in the team’s second Big 12 meet. The dual is set to begin at 2 p.m.
