No. 23/21 Kansas will return to Big 12 Conference action Saturday and look to end a two-game losing skid, as the Jayhawks travel to Texas Tech for a 7 p.m. game.

Prior to the Baylor game on Jan. 13, junior CeCe Harper had a career-high of 10 points, which she had scored three times, including twice this season. That all changed against the nation’s top team, as Harper fired in a career-best 21 points on 7-for-14 shooting, behind a career-best three treys on six attempts.LOOKING AT THE SILVER LINING
At the end of the day the Jan. 13 game against No. 1-ranked Baylor was a loss, but there were still some positives to take away. Baylor shot a season-low 35.7 percent in the second half and was only one of three halves where the Lady Bears shot lower than 40 percent all season. In that second half, Kansas was only outscored, 36-30. In addition, offensively, the Jayhawks scored 60 points, more than any other Big 12 team to date against Baylor. Now only four teams have scored 60 or more points this season against the Lady Bears, and two of those teams were ranked in the top-five nationally at the time.GETTING SOME BENCH WORK
Kansas’ bench has proven to be an asset this season, especially over the last five games. During that span, KU’s bench has outscored its opponent’s bench in all five games by a combined 92-43 margin. On the season, KU subs have scored 305 points, or 20.3 per game, while the opposing bench has totaled 199.CHELSEA LATELY
Comparing the sophomore numbers of Chelsea Gardner to her freshman stats, it is obvious that there is no sophomore slump going on here. In fact, Gardner is nearly doubling her production. The KU sophomore forward is averaging 8.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest this season, as opposed to 4.7 points and 3.7 boards last year. In addition, she has also improved her field goal percentage by 20 points and her free throw success rate by 200 percentage points.THE COMEBACK KIDS
Heading into the 2012-13 season, under head coach Bonnie Henrickson, Kansas was 19-89 (.176) in games where the team trailed at the half. Things are a bit different this season. The Jayhawks have trailed at the half seven times this campaign and boast a 3-4 (.429) mark.WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
In the 11 Kansas victories this season, the Jayhawks have held their opponents to 36.9 percent shooting from the field and posted an +10.1 rebounding advantage. However, in the thee losses, KU opponents are shooting 46.7 percent and the Jayhawks have a -13.5 rebounding deficit.MOVING ON UP
Senior Carolyn Davis entered the Oklahoma State game with 1,513 career points and needed only six points to move into the KU all-time top-10 scoring list. Senior Angel Goodrich led the Jayhawks with nine assists against in-state rival Kansas State (Jan. 2). With the nine dimes, Goodrich joined Lisa Braddy as the only two players in KU history to post 600 or more assists in a career. That’s exactly what head coach Bonnie Henrickson and her staff did during the early signing period, inking the No. 14-ranked recruiting class in the nation, according to Collegiate Girls Basketball Report, and the top among Big 12 Conference schools. The class also ranked No. 25 nationally by Blue Star Basketball.
