Cheerleading tryouts scheduled

Jan. 23, 2005

April 16th & 17thBlue SquadApproximately 7 couples and 2-4 non-stunting ladies who cheer at home football games, some away football games, and men’s basketball games.Red SquadApproximately 7 couples and 2-4 non-stunting ladies who cheer at home football games, women’s basketball games, and some home volleyball games.

Some other notes:Non-stunting ladies may get fewer travel opportunities than co-ed ladies depending on the number of cheerleaders we send to an event. For example, if we send only six or eight cheerleaders to an event, we would often send only co-ed couples.Several male alternates may be chosen to practice with the Red Squad. Alternates will not cheer games but can join the Red Squad to replace lost or injured squad members.During the course of the year, coaches can move members between squads or to alternate positions if they are not meeting squad expectations. In the Fall, coaches will choose the competition squad from members of the Blue and Red squads.
