KU Quarterback Club To Host Recruiting Gathering / Mangino Featured On FSN Show

The Kansas Quarterback Club will host a special event to showcase the Jayhawks’ 2008 football recruiting class, Thursday, Feb., 7 at Zig and Mac’s Bar and Grill (SE corner of Bob Billings Parkway and Wakarusa). <?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

The event, which begins at 7 p.m., includes a free hot dog tailgate (courtesy of Zig and Mac’s) and an introduction of KU’s newest football recruits by recruiting coordinator Brandon Blaney and defensive coordinator Clint Bowen.

KLWN will be hosting Rock Chalk, Sports Talk at Zig and Mac’s from 3:30-6 p.m.

Schedule:
7 p.m. — Social (Free Hot Dog Tailgate compliments of Zig and Mac’s) and 2007 football highlight video.

7:20 p.m. — Recruiting coordinator Brandon Blaney and defensive coordinator Clint Bowen will introduce KU’s 2008 football recruiting class.

7:35 p.m. — 2008 football recruiting class highlight video followed by Q&A with Blaney and Bowen.

8 p.m. — Wrap-up

Bear Bryant Award Special To Air On FSN Midwest/FSN Kansas City

A 30-minute television special featuring the 2007 Paul Bear Bryant College Coach of the Year Award will air next week on FSN Midwest/FSN Kansas City. Kansas football coach Mark Mangino was named the award winner in a ceremony on Jan. 17.

Air dates for the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year Award show on FSN Midwest/FSN Kansas City (all times central):
Sunday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 28 at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 10 p.m.

The show will also air on several other FSN regional networks. Check local listings for dates and times on those channels.
