Kansas Soccer Holds Banquet To Celebrate 2010 Season

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The Kansas soccer team held its annual banquet and postseason awards reception Saturday evening in the Chancellor’s Lounge at the Anderson Family Football Complex.

Five different Jayhawks were honored by their teammates with awards for their efforts during the season. Senior Geneva Magness was named the team’s Defensive Most Valuable Player, while fellow senior Erin Ellefson received the “Speedy” Gonzalez Hustle Award. Junior Kortney Clifton was named the team’s Offensive MVP, while twin sister Kelsey Clifton was tabbed the Most Improved Player during 2010. Freshman Madi Hillis received the Newcomer of the Year Award.

Along with handing out awards, the Jayhawks recognized the eight-member senior class, which was made up of Kaitlyn Cunningham, Ellefson, Lauren Jackson, Erin Lewis, Magness, Rachel Morris, Caitlin Noble and Katie Williams. The seniors spoke and thanked their teammates, coaches and parents for all their efforts throughout their KU careers.
