My Campus on Fox College Sports Network Friday Night Will Feature KU campus, Lawrence sites

Feb. 9, 2011

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Fox College Sports (FCS) television network will feature KU and Lawrence Friday night when it debuts its new series, My Campus, at 8 p.m. Central Time.

The FCS crew came to Lawrence last fall for a football weekend, filming game-day activities on the KU campus and at several locations in Lawrence. Friday night’s episode will also feature interviews with Kansas football legend Gale Sayers and current Coach Turner Gill.

My Campus is a half-hour show that each week will profile two to three unique student-run events at various universities across the country. Throughout the show, FCS’s Erin Coscarelli will host from one central location and involve student correspondents who are covering events at their respective campuses.

Recent KU graduate Kacie Brown serves as a student correspondent on Friday’s show. Brown, who received her undergraduate degree in journalism last year, is currently working with a production company in Wichita.

My Campus will give viewers a new perspective on some of the country’s most known collegiate celebrations and traditions through the eyes of students. Viewers will get an inside look at what it takes for these events to take place. The show will feature student-run events, concerts, philanthropies, parties, and other major celebrations. Each episode will feature at least one student-produced segment, hosted and edited by students from that university’s journalism or communications department.
