Kansas Football Adds Gibas To 2011 Signing Class

Feb. 14, 2011

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Head Football Coach Turner Gill announced the signing of Tanner Gibas, a long snapper from Covina, Calif., Monday. The addition of Gibas gives the Jayhawks 28 signees for 2011.

Gibas, a 6-2, 200-pounder from Charter Oak High School, is the third-ranked snapper in the nation according to Chris Rubio, who runs the long snapping division of Chris Sailer Kicking camps. He won the group’s national snapping event in the spring of 2010.

Gibas also played linebacker and recorded 55 tackles and one interception en route to earning second-team all-league honors this past fall. His brother Corey was a long snapper at Texas A&M.

Kansas signed 27 players on Feb. 2.
