CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Impending rain and thunderstorms surrounding the area forced the cancelation of the Charlotte Classic championship game between the Kansas softball team and Stony Brook, Sunday morning.

Kansas (7-2) was declared the tournament champion after collecting a 4-0 record over the weekend. The Jayhawks were looking to extend their seven-game winning streak against Stony Brook (2-2) in the official championship game before weather spoiled the opportunity.
