Kansas Finishes Seventh At Central District Invitational

The University of Kansas women’s golf team finished in seventh place, in a 14-team field, at the Central District Invitational. The Jayhawks shot a 306 in the final round at the Wilderness Golf Club for a total of 922.

“I am pleased with the way we opened our season,” head coach Erin O’Neil said. “This was a good start and I expect us to continue to improve and build as the season moves along.”

Baylor won tournament with an 896 followed by Ohio State with a 907.

Senior Chelsey Pryor tied for fifth with a 223. Junior Amanda Costner shot a 227 to place in a tie for 16th. Sophomore Annie Giangrosso tied for 44th with a 235. Senior Meredith Winkelmann totaled a 237 to place her in a tie for 51st. Sophomore Sarah Kierl finished in 73rd after totaling a 257.

The Jayhawks will next be in action at the Texas A&M “Mo”morial on March 10-12 in College Station, Texas.
