Kansas Lands 13 Members on the 2010 Academic All-Big 12 Teams

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Thirteen members of the Kansas Swimming and Diving team were named to the First or Second Academic All-Big 12 Teams on Tuesday. Of Kansas’ 13 honorees, 10 received first team accolades (3.20 GPA or higher), while three were named to the second team (3.00-3.19 GPA).

Juniors Alyssa and Brittany Potter both recorded perfect 4.00 GPAs. This is the second-straight year that both Alyssa and Brittany have received Academic All-Big 12 honors with perfect marks in the classroom.

While freshmen and transfer student-athletes are not eligible in their first year of academic residence, eligible student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher, either cumulative or the two previous semesters, and must have participated in 60 percent of his or her team’s scheduled contests.

Kansas swimming and diving will be in action at the Big 12 Conference Championship meet in College Station, Texas from Feb. 24 to Feb. 27. For news and results following KU competition, visit www.kuathletics.com.
