Kansas City Star Honors Kemp

March 1, 2005

Lawrence, Kan. — University of Kansas women’s basketball junior Crystal Kemp was honored Tuesday by the Kansas City Star when the newspaper released its annual Big 12 women’s basketball honors. Kemp was one of 15 players named all-conference by the publication as she was placed on the third team.

This season, Kemp leads KU in scoring and rebounding with 13.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. She grabbed her 500th career rebound at Oklahoma State and scored her 1,000 career point against Texas Tech to become just the 11th player in KU history to reach both milestones.

Through games of Feb. 26, Kemp ranked 12th in the league in scoring, fourth in rebounding and seventh in field goal percentage. She also ranks among the Big 12 leaders in steals, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds and minutes played.
