Kansas Adds Games To Future Football Schedules

<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas football has agreed to a home and home series with Southern Mississippi beginning in 2009, it was announced on Tuesday. The Jayhawks will host USM in Lawrence on September 26, 2009 and will travel to Hattiesburg on September 18, 2010.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />

The meeting with Southern Mississippi will be the first between the two schools.

Kansas has also added a home game against New MexicoState to its 2010 schedule. The teams will play in Lawrence on September 25, 2010. KU and New MexicoState will meet for the third time as KU defeated the Aggies 54-14 in the most recent meeting in 1991 after losing 42-29 in a 1988 matchup.

Kansas will also begin a series with Duke in Durham on Sept. 19, 2009. Duke will return the game in Lawrence on September 4, 2010. The two programs have never met in football.
