On Lee Ridenhour’s performance so far this season:
“We have been looking for a signature player for as long as I have been here. When you are trying to become a Top 25 program it starts on the mound. He is the highest profiled freshman we have had walk on the mound since I have been here. Certainly since the beginning of the season he has been an impact freshman, one of the best freshman in the country.”
On beating Wichita State:
“It is a rivalry game and it is important to the players. The players play with each other in the summer time, they are friends. There is a lot of chirping going on in both dugouts. I think it was good to get this win. We have not beat them since 2006 so it is good to get the monkey off of our back and now we can stark our own streak against them.”
On Robby Price’s homerun:
“He is a lot more physical this year. He has worked really hard in the weight room and gained ten pounds. You can tell the difference in the quality of his batting practice, the ball is jumping off of his barrel now. During his first two years he could the wall, and out of the ballpark. He has really worked hard to improve his strength.”
