Jayhawks Set to Take on Southern

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas tennis team will look to end its four-match losing streak when it travels to Baton Rouge, La. to take on the Southern Jaguars on Sunday, March 19.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

The Jayhawks enter the match with a record of 5-6, including a 0-3 mark in Big 12 play.

KU fell in the annual Sunflower Showdown on Wednesday, 6-1, to KansasState. Kansas got a singles win from sophomore Elizaveta Avdeeva, her third straight, as well as a doubles victory from the tandem of Avdeeva and freshman Ksenia Bukina.

Sunday’s match will be the second of three straight road dates for KU. After its match with the Jaguars, the Jayhawks will remain in Baton Rouge to take on LSU on Tuesday, March 21.
