Jayhawks Head to Arizona for MountainView Collegiate

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The KU women’s golf team will compete in a 17-team field at the MountainView Collegiate, hosted by the University of Colorado, March 24-25, in Tucson, Ariz. The two-day, three-round tournament will take place at the MountainView Golf Course (6,178 yards, par 72), and will shotgun at 8 a.m. each day. The first two rounds will be played Saturday, while the final 18 holes will be Sunday.

Senior Amanda Costner, junior Annie Giangrosso and freshmen Meghan Gockel, Camilla Svensson and Emily Powers will represent the Jayhawks.

KU won the event last season, shooting a three-day total of 884. The Jayhawks were also victorious in 2002.

The 17-team field includes Colorado, Arizona, Baylor, College of Charleston, Denver, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Northern Arizona, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Wisconsin.

The Jayhawks last competed at the Betsy Rawls Invite, placing 11th as a team. Costner led the way, shooting a three-round total of 229 (79-74-76) to place 15th.
