Postgame Quotes

Kansas 9, Baylor 8

Waco, Texas – March 26, 2010

Kansas Head Coach Ritch Price

On T.J. Walz’ performance:

“I told him when he came off the mound in the third inning that he had to go back out and throw up three zeros (the next three innings), or we weren’t going to have a chance to chip away at their lead if they kept scoring runs. He goes up and puts up four zeros and gets into the seventh, and that’s the reason we were able to come from behind. He grinded it out for us.”

On Tony Thompson at the plate:

“Tony was a difference in the ballgame. If he didn’t play, we don’t win. It was an unbelievable performance by a big-time player. He’s an impact player and we’re a lot better with him in our lineup.”

On winning a series against Baylor:

“After you win on Friday night, it puts you in position to win the series. Hopefully we can accomplish that and the momentum will carry over into tomorrow and we can get a quality start out of Cameron Selik. Those seven left-handed hitters in their lineup are tough on right-handed pitchers, so we need to walk into the ballpark with the same swagger.”
