Kansas Men's Basketball Awards Ceremony to be Held April 11

March 27, 2006

The 2005-06 University of Kansas Men’s Basketball Awards Ceremony will be held Tuesday, April 11, at the Kansas Ballroom, located on the fifth floor of the KU Memorial Union on campus. The program starts at 7 p.m.; the doors open at 6 p.m.

Admission is free to the general public, but due to limited space – capacity of 700 – those in attendance need a ticket. To obtain tickets, call the Williams Educational Fund at 785.864.3946.

Head Coach Bill Self, his staff and players will be on hand for the ceremony. Video highlights will be shown, commemorating the Jayhawks’ 2005-06 Big 12 regular-season and conference tournament championships. In addition, the coaching staff will present individual player awards. The event will also honor KU’s departing seniors – Jeff Hawkins, Christian Moody, Moulaye Niang and Stephen Vinson – and Kansas Athletics legend Max Falkenstien, who retired at season’s end after 60 years of broadcasting KU football and men’s basketball games.

Tickets will not be mailed; they may be picked up at the Williams Educational Fund office or at a check-in table on the fourth floor of the Kansas Memorial Union prior to the event.
