Selden Shines at McDonald's All-American Game

McDonalds logomcds logoCHICAGO – Future Kansas guard Wayne Selden, Jr., scored 13 points in the McDonald’s All-American High School Basketball Game Wednesday evening at Chicago’s United Center.

Selden, 6-foot-5 from Roxbury, Mass., was the East team’s second-leading scorer going 5-for-7 from the field, 2-for-4 from three-point range, for 13 points with five rebounds and three assists in the East’s 110-99 loss to the West squad.

Selden is Kansas’ 33rd all-time player to be named a McDonald’s All-American. KU sophomore-to-be Perry Ellis was a McDonald’s All-American last year.

Rivals.com ranks Kansas’ recruiting class No. 3 nationally. Selden and future Jayhawk Joel Embiid (7-0, C, Cameroon) will participate in the Jordan Brand Classic, Saturday, April 13, at Barclay’s Arena in Brooklyn, N.Y. Selden will play for the East team, while Embiid will play for the West squad. Other members of the class joining the KU team in the fall include Conner Frankamp (5-11, G, Wichita, Kan.), Brannen Greene (6-7, F, Monroe, Ga.) and Frank Mason (5-11, G, Petersburg, Va.).
