Volleyball Victorious In Spring Season Debut

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The Kansas volleyball team went 3-0 in its spring season debut on Tuesday as it posted wins over Washburn, Rockhurst and UMKC at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center.

KU began the night with a 3-0 victory over Washburn. The Jayhawks went on to defeat Rockhurst 2-1 and UMKC 2-0.

Sophomore Karina Garlington headlined the Jayhawk offense tallying a team-high 25 kills during the matches. She also added 15 digs in the effort, just behind sophomore libero Melissa Manda, who dug up 21 on the night.

Junior Paige Mazour contributed 20 kills in the victories, while Jenna Kaiser recorded 15.

Kansas continues its spring competition this weekend when it heads to Tulane University on Saturday, April 11. While in New Orleans, home of KU junior Brittany Williams, the Jayhawks will compete against Tulane, New Orleans and Southern Mississippi.
