Costner Tied For The Lead At Lady Boilermaker Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. –

The University of Kansas women’s golf team is currently in a tie for sixth place, in a 13-team field, after the first two rounds of the Lady Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. The Jayhawks shot a 302 first round score followed by a 305 for a combined score of 607.

Sophomore Amanda Costner is tied for first place after firing a 71, her best score of the season, in the second round for a two round score of 144.

“I am very pleased with our play today,” head coach Erin O’Neil said. “We played well, but we still left some shots out on the golf course. Tomorrow’s round is going to be very important for this team and I think we will respond well.”

Northwestern is currently in first with a 597, followed by TCU with a 598.

Sophomore Jill Womble totaled a 153 and is currently in a tie for 21st. Junior Chelsey Pryor is tied for 27th after two rounds with a score of 154. Junior Tiffany Woods is in a tie for 38th after a two round score of 156. Junior Meredith Winkelmann is tied for 59th after a two round score of 163. Freshman Annie Giangrosso is in 63rd with a 164.

The Jayhawks will start final round play on Sunday with tee times set to begin at 7:30 a.m.
