April 9, 2009

LAWRENCE, Kan.—Kansas rowing will host Kansas State in the Kansas Cup at Wyandotte County Lake in Kansas City, Kan., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11. The Jayhawks and the Wildcats are meeting in their first head-to-head competition this season.

The Jayhawks were scheduled to travel to Manhattan, Kan., on November 8 to face Kansas State, but the regatta was cancelled due to high winds in the area. The two teams did compete against each other at the Head of the Des Moines with the Wildcats finishing ahead of Kansas.

The Jayhawks continue the spring season next weekend at the annual SIRA’s in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The two day event begins Saturday, April 18 and concludes Sunday, April 19.
