Woodland Shoots 74 In Third Round Of Masters

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Former Kansas golfer Gary Woodland shot a 74 in the third round of the Masters and dropped into a tie for 38th-place heading into Sunday’s final round.

Woodland, who played at Kansas from 2004-07, is even for the tournament after shooting 69, 73 and 74.

Woodland’s third round consisted of four bogeys and two birdies. He opened the day with a bogey, but responded with a birdie on the second hole. After four straight pars, he bogeyed consecutive holes before closing the front nine with a birdie.

His back nine showed eight pars along with a bogey on the par-three 12th hole.

Woodland was paired with Phil Mickelson for the third round. Mickelson shot 71 Saturday and is at three-under for the tournament to tie for 18th place.

The final round of the season’s first major will be played Sunday.
