Barbee Leads the Jayhawks During Round Two at the River Landing Intercollegiate

LAWRENCE, KAN. –

Nate Barbee shot his fourth under-par round of the year shooting a second-round 70 to lead the Kansas men’s golf team during round two at the River Landing Intercollegiate in Wallace, N.C. The team improved upon their first round score by five strokes and was able to move up five spots on the leaderboard into a tie for seventh.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

Barbee carded five birdies on the day and is currently tied for 21st place. Fellow freshman Brad Hopfinger shot a 73 and is currently tied for 31st place after two rounds of play.

Junior Walt Koelbel carded a second round 76 and is currently tied for 42nd place. Junior Zach Pederson fired a 77 and is tied for 50th place. Sophomore Patrick Roth improved upon his score from yesterday by seven strokes with a second round 75 and is tied for 72nd place.

North Carolina St. and Duke are currently tied atop the team leaderboard with 574 strokes through two rounds of play. Webb Simpson of Wake Forest is the leading individual with a five-under score of 139 through two rounds.
