Kansas Tennis Edged by Missouri, 4-3

COLUMBIA, Mo. –

Kansas tennis fell to Missouri 4-3 in its annual Border Showdown series Friday. The loss dropped Kansas’ record to 9-9 overall and 1-5 in Big 12 play, while the Tigers improved to 6-11 overall and 1-5 in Big 12 play.

The Jayhawks fell behind 1-0 after losing the doubles point. Sophomore Ekaterina Morozova, senior Kunigunda Dorn and freshman Victoria Khanevskaya recorded singles victories for KU, but the team could not overcome the early deficit.

Dorn defeated Missouri’s Maria Christensen 6-2, 6-3, while Morozova and Khanevskaya defeated their respective opponents in three sets.

Kansas will look to get back on track when it travels to Colorado on Sunday, April 11. Match time is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
