Kansas Rowing Fares Well on Day One at Southern IRA's

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – The <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Kansas rowing team was victorious Friday as it completed day one at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship. The races held on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn., saw Kansas win both heats — Women’s Varsity Four and Women’s Novice Four.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

“We’re looking forward to the finals tomorrow and it should be a good day of racing.” Kansas head coach Rob Catloth said.

The Jayhawks will wrap up the Southern IRA’s in the semifinals and finals beginning at 7:30 a.m. They will be competing in the Women’s Novice Four, Women’s Novice Eight, Women’s JV Eight, Women’s Varsity Four and Women’s Varsity Eight.
