Carolyn Davis Named Freshmen All-America By The Full Court Press

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas freshman forward Carolyn Davis was named a Third Team Freshmen All-America by the Full Court Press. A panel of correspondents from across the nation had input for the publication, as it announced its annual All-America Teams, Freshmen All-America Teams and Player and Freshman of the Year.

Davis, who was named to the Big 12 All-Freshmen Team by both the league coaches and the Waco Tribune-Herald, averaged 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game on the season. She upped her averages to 15.2 points and 8.4 boards per game after being inserted into the KU starting line-up in mid-January.

Davis set a new KU single-season record for field goal percentage by knocking down 104-of-146 shots from the field, good for 71.9 percent. Her field goal percentage led the Big 12 on the season. She was twice named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week (Feb. 1, Feb. 15) and recorded a team-leading six double-double performances on the year. She turned in a season-high 31 points off of 12-of-13 shooting from the field versus Oklahoma State in the first round of the 2010 Big 12 Championship.
