<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>LAWRENCE, Kan. — The University of Kansas will play its final road dual of the season on Wednesday when it heads to Norman, Okla., for a matchup with OU. Play is set to begin at 1 p.m.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

KU currently features a 4-14 overall record, including a 2-7 mark in the Big 12. The Jayhawks are currently tied with Texas Tech for 10th place in the conference standings.

Despite some recent struggles as a team, KU has managed to produce several individual highlights late in the season. Sophomore Yuliana Svistun has been on an absolute tear in the No. 5 singles position, as the Ufa, Russia, native has won 12 of her past 14 contests. Svistun has an overall mark of 13-5 this spring, and her 6-2 Big 12 record in the No. 5 slot is the league’s third best.

Also near the top of the conference standings is Kansas’ top doubles tandem of junior Elizaveta Avdeeva and sophomore Edina Horvath. Despite dropping its last two contests, the duo is in a second-place tie in the league standings at the No. 1 position. Overall, Avdeeva and Horvath boast a 13-6 record this spring.

Oklahoma enters Wednesday’s dual with a record of 7-11 overall, and its 4-5 Big 12 mark has them in a sixth-place tie with Nebraska.

Last season, KU got the best of Oklahoma in Lawrence on April 1, handling the Sooners, 5-2. Kansas got singles wins from current Jayhawks Avdeeva, Horvath and Stephanie Smith, along with sweeping each of the doubles matches.

Following the trip to Oklahoma, KU will round out the regular season at home on Sunday against Texas A&M before heading to Kansas City for the Big 12 Championships next week.
