McMillan Selected By Cleveland Browns in Fifth Round

Lawrence, Kan. – University of Kansas defensive end David McMillan was drafted by the Cleveland Browns on Sunday in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL draft. He was the third pick of the fifth round and the 139th pick overall in the draft.

“I’m enthusiastic about playing at the next level and having the opportunity to compete and show everyone in the world that I can be one of the best at my profession,” McMillan said.

McMillan finished his Jayhawk career with 95 total tackles including 21 tackles for loss. As a senior, the Killeen, Texas, native recorded 37 total tackles and led the team with seven quarterback sacks and three forced fumbles.

In his final collegiate game, McMillan led the Jayhawks to a 31-14 victory over Missouri with a team-high five tackles including three quarterback sacks.
