Men's Golf In Ninth At Big 12 Championships

TRINITY, Texas –

The University of Kansas men’s golf team is in ninth place, after an opening round of 304, at the Big 12 Championships at Whispering Pines G.C. in Trinity, Texas.

“It is pretty disappointing to play the way we did today,” head coach Ross Randall said. “We did not get the job done and played sloppy, but I really think that we will come out tomorrow and play much better.”

Oklahoma State currently leads the tournament after firing a 285. Oklahoma is in second with a 290.

Sophomore Tyler Docking leads the Jayhawks after firing a 73 to tie for 11th. Senior Andrew Price and sophomore Gary Woodland each shot 76 and are currently in a tie for 22nd place. Senior Kevin Ward shot a 79 and is in a tie for 44th. Junior Luke Trammell carded an 80 and currently sits in a tie for 50th.

Kansas will next begin second round action at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Live scoring can be found at golfstat.com.
