Kansas Moves Up To Fifth At Big 12 Championships

TRINITY, Texas –

The University of Kansas men’s golf team moved in to fifth place at the Big 12 Championships at Whispering Pines G.C. in Trinity, Texas. The Jayhawks shot a 303 on Saturday for a two-day total of 607.

“We were able to move up the leaderboard without playing very good golf,” head coach Ross Randall said. “We just aren’t clicking right now. Hopefully everything will come together and we will move up to where we think we should be on the leaderboard.”

Oklahoma State extended its lead to seven strokes as the Cowboys have a two-round score of 581. Oklahoma remains in second with a 588.

Sophomore Tyler Docking continues to lead the Jayhawks as he is tied for 12th with a 150. Senior Kevin Ward moved in to a tie for 15th with a 151. Junior Luke Trammell and sophomore Gary Woodland are tied for 34th with a two-day total of 155. Senior Andrew Price is tied for 53rd with a 161.

Kansas will begin final round action as it tees off at 8 a.m. on Sunday. Live scoring can be found at golfstat.com.
