May 5, 2010

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The Kansas men’s golf team completed its incoming recruiting class by announcing the signings of Bryce Brown and Jordan Lowery during the spring signing period.

Brown hails from Lincoln, Neb. and attended Lincoln Southwest High School. Lowery is from Phoenix, Ariz. where he attended Perry High School.

Both will join fall signee Clay LeBrec to complete the Jayhawks signing class and add to an already young squad under head coach Kit Grove.

“I am really looking forward to next year,” said Grove. “It’s always exciting to get some new faces in here and see how they compete. We feel these guys can come in and make an immediate impact on our program.”

Brown finished in the top-15 at the 2009 Nebraska State Amateur and led his high school to the 2008 Nebraska State Championship.

Lowery has also experienced prep success where he placed second at the Arizona Junior Match Play Championship and third at the Junior Boys State Championship last summer.

The three incoming freshmen will join a Jayhawk roster that relied heavily on three freshmen during the 2009-10 campaign in Chris Gilbert, Alex Gutesha, and Dan Waite. The three combined to compete in 32 events this season and recorded eight top-20 finishes.

The NCAA Tournament field will be announced on May 10th. Check back to kuathletics.com for complete coverage of the 2009-10 season.
