KU Softball's McCaulley Named All-Big 12 Second Team

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. –

For the second straight year, senior Dougie McCaulley has been named to the All-Big 12 Second Team it was announced Friday during an awards ceremony after the first round of the Big 12 Softball Championship.

A Victorville, Calif., native, McCaulley led the team with 16 hits and nine runs during Big 12 games and shared the team lead with three doubles. She was also second on the squad batting .291. The center fielder stole four bases and had no errors from the field during 17 conference games.

McCaulley was the lone Jayhawk named to the All-Big 12 Team and her second conference award of the season as she was also named to the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team.

Oklahoma’s Patty Gasso was selected Coach of the Year, while junior Amber Flores was named Player of the Year. Baylor’s Whitney Canion took both Pitcher and Freshman of the Year honors, and Texas A&M’s Natalie Villarreal was voted Defensive Player of the Year.
