LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Tuesday evening the Kansas volleyball team wrapped up its second day of two-a-days inside the Horejsi Family Athletics Center. While its practice schedule sounds more like a preseason workout in August, the Jayhawks are busy preparing for their European tour, which begins on Saturday, May 28. The team has also been hitting the weight room and will continue to practice twice a day through Friday.

Saturday morning the Jayhawks depart from Kansas City for a 12-day, multi-country tour that includes several cities in Italy and Switzerland. KU will play seven matches versus teams from various cities on the trip, while plenty of sightseeing and cultural experiences are also scheduled along the way.

Kansas will start its journey in Rome, Italy before traveling on to Florence, Bologna, Venice and Novara. The trip concludes in Geneva, Switzerland. The team will have a chance to visit popular tourist attractions such as Vatican City, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.
