Kansas Athletes Set for USA Championships

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Nine Kansas track & field athletes will be competing this week at the 2009 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships and the USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships June 25-28 in Eugene, Ore.

Jordan Scott will be the lone current Jayhawk at the USA Senior Championships, competing in the pole vault.

Keith Hayes (110-meter hurdles), Nick Canton (high jump), Corey Fuller (triple jump), Shayla Wilson (400 meters), Mackenzie Wills (pole vault), Donny Wasinger (1,500 meters, 5,000 meters), Kaleb Humphreys (5,000 meters) and Rebeka Stowe (1,500 meters) have qualified for the junior championships.

Nickesha Anderson will compete at the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association (JAAA) National Senior Championships June 26-28 at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

Kansas volunteer assistant coach Crystal Manning will compete at the USA Championships in the triple jump Friday at 6:50 p.m. CDT.
