Jayhawks to Face Croatian National Team in Exhibition Play

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The University of Kansas baseball team announced that it will open the 2007 fall season with an exhibition game against the Croatian National Team at Hoglund Ballpark Sept. 2 at 5 p.m. Admission to the game will be free of charge.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office” />

The Croatian National Team will play <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />Kansas just days before it heads to Spain for the European Baseball Championships Sept. 5-16. Team Croatia will look to qualify for the 2010 Summer Olympics at the European Championship.

The Jayhawks are coming off a 28-30 campaign, but could return as many as eight starting position players from a year ago.
