Dickerson Named Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities at Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Bill Dickerson has been named Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities, KU officials announced Thursday. Dickerson replaces Brad Nachtigal, who has moved to Assistant Athletic Director – Facility Planning at KU.

An Olathe, Kan., native Dickerson came to KU after serving as vice president and general manager of the Coliseum and Baptist Sports Park for the Tennessee Titan’s Football Club in Nashville, Tenn. He acted as the owner’s liaison between construction company and team for a $290 million stadium and $22 million practice facility.

Dickerson was a director of operations and facilities for the Kansas City Chiefs Football Club from 1988-92. For the Chiefs, Dickerson managed a $4 million operations budget and acted as director for Arrowhead Stadium and team practice facility. He also implemented a stadium master plan consisting of $50 million in stadium repairs and improvements. Prior to the Chiefs Dickerson was the manager of athletic operations, events and facilities at the University of Oklahoma from 1980-88.

Dickerson has a master’s degree in athletic administration from Wichita State University in 1980. He earned his bachelor’s degree in administration from Kansas State University in 1978.
