Former KU Javelin Thrower Qualifies For Finals

Scott Russell, former Jayhawk NCAA Champion in the javelin and the weight throw, has advanced to the finals in the javelin at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships in Helsinki, Finland. Russell’s first throw of 79.45 meters was good enough to qualify him. He is one of 12 qualifiers to move on to the finals out of 30 total competitors in the event.
