Russell Finishes 12th In World Championships

Lawrence, Kan. – Scott Russell, former Jayhawk NCAA Champion in the javelin and the weight throw, finished in 12th place in the javelin at the IAAF World Track and Field Championships in Helsinki, Finland yesterday. Representing Team Canada, Russell had throws of 62.33 meters and 68.59 meters in the preliminary round of the finals, not good enough to advance him to the top eight.
