The Kansas women’s soccer team will open the 2008 season with an exhibition match against Drake University on Saturday at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex. Kick off is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Fans in attendance Saturday can receive free caramel corn at the concession stand after the Jayhawks score their first goal. Following the match, kids 12-and-under are invited to participate in a free youth clinic put on by the Kansas student-athletes and coaches.

Despite construction at Allen Fieldhouse, fans can still access the Jayhawk Soccer Complex via Naismith Drive and 18th street, by Oliver Hall. Parking is available in the lot in-between Oliver Hall and the Jayhawk Soccer Complex as well as next to Arrocha Ballpark.

Season tickets are on sale at the Kansas Athletics Ticket Office. Fans can purchase season tickets ($40 for general admission and $32 for KU Faculty/Staff) at kuathletics.com or by calling 800-34-HAWKS.

Kansas will play 10 regular season contests at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex this season, including matches against traditional Big 12 powerhouses, Texas, Texas A&M and Colorado. The Jayhawks return 16 letterwinners and eight starters from last year’s squad which placed third in the Big 12 with a conference mark of 5-2-3.
