KU Volleyball Announces 2004 Reserved Seating Plan

July 27, 2004

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Due to the growing attendance and multiple sellouts at University of Kansas volleyball matches over the past few years, the Horejsi Family Athletic Center will change from general admission to reserved seating for all matches starting with the 2004 season, the Kansas Athletics Department announced Tuesday.

Season tickets are available for all of KU’s 14 regular-seasonhome matches and cost $70 for adults, $56 for faculty and staff, and $35 for youth (17 and under). If available, single-match tickets may be purchased for $6 (adults) and $3 (youth).

Members of the Williams Educational Fund who purchase season tickets will receive two (2) priority points per account regardless of the number of tickets purchased.

Kansas is coming off its best season in school history and first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Jayhawks, under sixth-year head coach Ray Bechard, finished 22-11 overall and 13-7 in the Big 12 last season.

In 2003, Horejsi, which seats only 1,300, sold out three matches (Nebraska, Kansas State, Iowa State) and recorded program-high attendance numbers. Athletics Department officials anticipate strong ticket sales again in 2004 and encourage fans to act now.
