Amy Gruber Finishes in Top-40

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – University of Kansas swimmer Amy Gruber competed in the 50 freestyle at the 2004 NCAA Swimming Championships, which are taking place from March 18-20 in College Station, Texas.

Gruber swam in the 50 freestyle claiming 34th place, three spots higher than her finish last season. She swam the event in a time of 25.76. Before the race the Bigelow, Ark. native was seeded 64th and was able to move up 30 spots with her time.

“This was an outstanding swim today,” Kansas coach Clark Campbell said. “I know she is really happy with the result. Hopefully we will see bigger and better things tomorrow.”

Gruber will compete in the 100 butterfly on Friday, March 19 and in the 100 freestyle race on Saturday, March 20.
