Kansas Leads FAU, 9-7, at the Half

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

The Kansas defense was solid in the first half as the Jayhawks took a 9-7 lead over visiting Florida Atlantic Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

Senior linebacker Brandon Perkins pressured FAU quarterback Danny Embrick into an intentional grounding penalty in the endzone that resulted in an Owl safety in the first quarter, giving KU a 2-0 lead.

Junior quarterback Adam Barmann scored on a six-yard run with 19 seconds left in the first quarter to give KU a 9-0 lead. FAU answered with a 66-yard touchdown pass to Thomas Parker just nine seconds after the Jayhawks’ score.
