Kansas Rowing to Hold Walk-On Tryouts

Sept. 8, 2011

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

Kansas rowing will be holding open walk-on tryouts throughout the month of September at the University of Kansas Boathouse. Those interested must be enrolled at KU as a full-time student and no prior rowing experience is required to join the team.

Interested parties will join the Novice team for the first year before making the jump to varsity action the following spring or fall.

Potential student-athletes are invited to hear more about becoming an NCAA Division I athlete and how to walk-on to the successful KU team.

On the 2011-12 schedule, Kansas rowing will host one regatta at Wyandotte County Lake and travel to three different states to compete in seven other regattas. The fall portion of the Jayhawks’ schedule kicks off Oct. 1 when they compete at the Head of the Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, Okla.
