Kansas at Kansas State Football to Kickoff at 11 a.m. on FSN

LAWRENCE, Kan. –

When the University of Kansas football team opens Big 12 Conference play at <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />KansasState on Saturday, Oct. 6, many fans across the country will get their first opportunity to see one of the nation’s more exciting teams as the game will be televised on Fox Sports Net at 11 a.m. Central time.

The game will be KU’s first live televised game of the year. After four weeks of the season the Jayhawks rank third in the nation in scoring offense at 53.5 points per game, while leading the nation in scoring defense allowing just 5.8 points per contest.

The matchup will be the 105th between the two schools with Kansas leading the overall series 63-36-5, including wins in two of the last three years.

The 4-0 Jayhawks have a bye week before heading to Manhattan. KansasState, 2-1, is coming off a bye week and will travel to Texas this Saturday.

Other Big 12 Conference games slated for national television that day include Oklahoma vs. Texas (ABC, 2:30 p.m.), OklahomaState at Texas A&M (FSN, 6 or 6:30 p.m.) and Nebraska at Missouri (ESPN, 8:15 p.m.).
