KU Finishes Tied For Sixth At Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate

Nashville, Tenn. –

The University of Kansas men’s golf team finished in a tie for sixth place, in a 12-team field, at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate in Nashville, Tenn. Kansas compiled a third round score of 291 for a three-day total of 879 (+15), at the par 72 Vanderbilt Legends Club.

“It was kind of a disappointing tournament,” head coach Ross Randall said. “I saw some good things, but there are certainly aspects we need to work on. We will do that and be ready for our next tournament.”

Virginia took hom the team title totaling an 858. Baylor came in second with an 865.

Junior Gary Woodland led the Jayhawks for the third straight tournament. The Berryton, Kan., native fired a 67 to finish in a tie for third. Freshman Zach Pederson placed in a tie for 11th after a 74 on Sunday. Senior Pete Krsnich tied for 24th after carding a 77. Junior Barrett Martens shot a 73 and to tie for 55th. Junior Tyler Docking finished in 64th after his third straight day of 82.

The Jayhawks will next be in action at The Prestige in La Quinta, Calif. on Oct. 17-18.
