The Jayhawks, led by senior captains Jenny Short and Lisa Tilson, enter the season with 20 returning letterwinners and 12 incoming swimmers and divers that will add to the depth of the Kansas roster.

After entering the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division I Top-25 Poll last season for the first time since 1997, the Jayhawks finished 2005-06 8-2 with a perfect 3-0 mark in Big 12 Conference competition. The team placed fourth at the Big 12 Championship meet and had one competitor, Ashley Leidigh, appear in the NCAA Championship meet.

The intrasquad meet will feature the Kansas Crimson and Blue teams and a different order of events from a typical meet.

“Our intrasquad meet is a traditional kick off to our season,” fifth-year head coach Clark Campbell said. “One thing we emphasize in our program is racing and this is a chance for us to race with an order of events that we hardly ever see.”

Following the meet, the Kansas alumni swimming and diving meet will take place beginning at 6 p.m.
