LAWRENCE, KAN. –

Freshman Brad Hopfinger returns home to the Chicago area as the Kansas men’s golf team continues their fall season at the Windon Memorial Classic at Lake Shore Country Club in Glencoe, Ill. on Oct. 7-8. The Jayhawks will look to build off their strong second-place finish at the Kansas Invitational in their last outing.

Hopfinger, a native of Lake Forest, Ill., will try to improve upon his impressive 22nd-place finish at the Kansas Invitational in his collegiate debut. Hopfinger tied for most birdies in the event with 11.

Kansas placed second in the event last year, including a third-place finish by junior Zach Pederson. Pederson recorded a final-round score of 66 which ranked as the third best round of the year for the Jayhawks. Pederson will rejoin the Jayhawk line-up after playing in the Kansas Invitational as an individual.

Freshman Nate Barbee will once again be apart of the Kansas line-up after leading the Jayhawks in both of the first two tournaments of the season. Barbee recorded his first ever top-10 finish at the Kansas Invitational when he tied for eighth place.

Junior Walt Koelbel will try to improve upon his 51st place finish at the event last year. Koelbel is off to a quick start during the fall season with two rounds of par or better in two tournaments this fall.

Junior Andrew Storm will round out the line-up for the Jayhawks. Storm turned in a solid 27th-place finish during his Jayhawk debut at the Kansas Invitational.

The tournament will feature 36-holes on Sunday, Oct. 7th, followed by the final-round on Oct. 8th. Check back to kuathletics.com for complete results and recap.
