Kansas Baseball Scrimmage Report

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Kansas baseball team continued its fall practices this week, as it held a scrimmage on Wednesday afternoon at Hoglund Ballpark in which the red team defeated the blue team 4-3.

On the mound, senior right-handed pitcher Clint Schambach threw four innings and allowed four hits while striking out four. Junior Don Czyz also booked a successful appearance in the scrimmage, and as he tossed three scoreless innings.

Freshman John Allman, junior Gus Milner and seniors Sean Richardson and Andy Scholl each hit a double in the scrimmage, while freshman infielder Ryne Price slammed a two-run home run, his first of the fall.

Jayhawk baseball will participate in scrimmages for five consecutive days, beginning Friday at 6 p.m. for Parent’s Day at Hoglund Ballpark. Saturday and Sunday, the Jayhawks take the field at 1 p.m., while on Monday and Tuesday the game’s first pitch is set for 3 p.m.
