<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Kansas finished a very successful weekend at the Indiana University Hoosier Classic on Sunday.

The Jayhawks’ only action on the final day of the event was in the consolation final of the doubles bracket, where the tandem of freshman Kunigunda Dorn and sophomore Yuliana Svistun fell to Indiana’s Fischer and Perton, 8-5.

Dorn and Svistun advanced to the ninth-place match after their scheduled contest against teammates Elizaveta Avdeeva and sophomore Edina Horvath was not played.

Despite little action on Sunday, KU had a great weekend in Bloomington, headlined by Dorn’s championship in the Flight B singles bracket on Saturday. Also highlighting Kansas’ showing at the three-day tournament was Avdeeva’s fifth place finish in the Flight A singles draw.

Avdeeva’s consolation title was the Obninsk, Russia, native’s first action of the season.

KU will next be in action when it travels to Tulsa, Okla. for the ITA Central Regionals. The tournament is slated to run Oct. 19-22.
